Introducing:
Flamboyán Productions
Jon Marcantoni is an award-winning author and playwright established Flamboyán Productions in the Fall of 2022 with the mission of bringing stories by young and diverse writers to a global audience while contributing to the local community.
Jon is of Puerto Rican descent and knows first hand how difficult it is for BIPOC writers to break out into theater and cinema to share their stories with new levels of nuance, depth, and perspective.
His play Puerto Rican Nocturne (2022) was a hit with two runs at The Bug Theater and Factory Five Five. This success became a springboard for continued collaboration with partners like the Control Group Productions, Bon Fils Foundation, and Denver Arts & Venues to launch the Emerging BIPOC Playwright’s Project as seen recently in Westword.

Design Challenge: It was difficult to integrate elements of the great outdoors that define Colorado AND theater imagery that conveys the spirit and mission of Flamboyán. Luckily Jon had some photos from hiking trips to avoid a look of boring stock photos.
“The Flamboyán is a tree beloved throughout Latin America, and was chosen as the symbol for our company as it represents Pan-Latino identity that unites the cultural diversity of the Americas under one canopy.”
