Dane Dowell
I could talk to today’s guest Dane Dowell for hours and lose track of time discussing our shared sources of inspiration, travel, books, and the great outdoors.
Graduating college on the east coast, Dane moved to Denver for an adventure and despite professional stints in Singapore, DC, NYC, and Paris, he keeps coming home to the Colorado Front Range.
Dane spent the first 16 years of his career as a Certified Public Accountant working in the audit industry. From Big Four to regulator to consulting, he is deeply familiar with the corporate world but Dane wanted more.
Longing to use his natural strengths in a manner that aligned with his values and goals, in the summer of 2020, he completed his coaching certification and is a life coach helping clients dream, discover and develop as they consciously choose their path in life just as he did with the help of his counselor. Dane’s loving parents were also a big source of inspiration in this life of service and giving back.
Today, we’ll talk about listening to the "sound of the genuine" within, deconstructing old paradigms, and approaching life with curiosity. What does it mean to "hear the call," to "cross the threshold" and enter into the desert for those familiar with Hero's Journey framework.
We’ll also discuss his approach of asking questions and actively listening rather than getting caught up in "what am I going to say next" or predicting what the answers may yield. This is great for anyone but especially those in leadership, consulting, and coaching.
He’ll share how he’s been saying YES to spontaneous adventures, quiet moments of reflection, and mixing up routines but NO to "time fillers” because he’s writing a book "In Search of Light" which will be released this summer.
Join us as we talk about all this and more today on Wednesday, May 15th at 9am MST or catch the replay below!
